…a wickedly awesome Halloween Party that is! This November 2, people in and around NAIST came together and dressed silly for the annual Halloween Party, organized by the Global Student Network (GSK). And for the first time ever in the history of NAIST student parties, the party was held in the Millennium Hall Lounge.
Community parties are always a welcome addition to the life and times of a NAIST student. Do you like dressing up? Do you love cosplay? So do we! Attendees answered the call and came with their best costumes – hackers, vampires, samurais and more! If you don’t have a costume, you can take your pick from the stash of wigs, masks, and accessories arranged near the entrance and get into the mood. You have no excuse to skip the fun! Check out these awesome costume designs!
Grab a drink, grab a friend, and grab a piece of chocolate-laden popcorn. There were enough food, people, and conversation to go around. Compare costumes and admire the efforts (or lack thereof) put into making these works of art. Drop by, walk around and get to know the other party-goers. Maybe you’ll find a lifelong friend, your one true soulmate, or MAYBE you’ll be teaming up for an upcoming game of Picture Relay / お絵描きリレー!
The Picture Relay game made a reappearance this year! The game begins with teams forming straight lines facing the game master. The game master tells the first person in each line a word which they need to draw on paper. After a minute, they stop drawing and show the picture to the person behind them. This goes on until the sketch reaches the last person in each line, who needs to guess the word. The catch is that communication is through sketching only. No other form of communication is allowed (no letters, no talking)! Once you try it, it’s an easy game to understand, and the results are usually hilarious!
Prizes were given to the game winners as well as the best dressed costumes. The party didn’t stop at 9:00 PM as people marched off to the afterparty, and the party after that. There is no escaping the fact that there is life on campus after all, as the Halloween parties in NAIST get bigger and better every year. We are looking forward to see you in the next one!
